Ramzan Mubarak…

…to everyone!

All around the world Muslims spend the month of Ramzan in submission to Allah. Fasting to bring content spiritually and mentally. Ramzan is experienced throughout all elements and seasons around the world. Some of us currently fasting 12 hours a day, whilst some over 18 hours a day.

But spare a thought for those that do not have a home. Barely have a decent meal to open their fast in the evening. Refugees scattered across all continents, with only the clothes they wear as their only possession. Yet they have hope. A strong belief for goodness to come.

Ramzan is a month of asking for forgiveness. It is a month of giving. Helping the poor and needy.

There is much sadness and turmoil in today’s world. Much dishonesty, crime, hatred, brothers and sisters fighting amongst themselves. Less people in prayers and more into the materialistic wonders of this world. Yet Allah has spared us from the wrath that many periled from centuries past. Do not forget all that has happened from the times of the Prophets. Allah shows mercy. It is from those whose hearts hold goodness and honesty that Allah has spared us from destruction. Each second of the day someone somewhere in the world is in prayer to their Lord. Each second of the day an Azan takes place, a web of voices that follow one after another around the world. The world is in continuous prayer so that Allah will have mercy and spare us from difficulties and burdens. It is not just the Muslims in prayer, there are those of other faiths that too keep the word of Allah alive. Those that truly believe in the original word of Allah, be it from the Bible, Torah, Gospel or Psalms, whether it be in their own place of worship or even just in their own homes, Allah does hear.

My dear friends, pray for peace, and donate generously to the poor and needy.

And please, please do not feast excessively during the month of Ramzan in the evenings. We all have cravings to eat all sorts of savoury, spicy and sweet dishes in the evening. Go easy on the tummy! As it says in the Quran ‘Eat and drink, but avoid excess, or My wrath will descend upon you!’ (Surah 20:81)

Me personally, I look forward to a nice cup of brewed Tetley tea in the evening once I have opened my fast…ahh! Nothing beats a cup of chai!

My blessings to each and every one of you. May each day be blessed. May our burdens be eased. May our prayers be granted. Ameen.
