My dearest Readers,
One of the sacred months is upon us again. Mubarak to all those that have completed their Hajj today, and wishing you all a safe journey back home. For those that have fasted on this auspicious day, may all your duas be granted and hearts be full of peace. Ameen.
I wish each and every one of you a wonderful Eid for tomorrow. Spare a thought for all those that are stranded with no home and no food. Times are hard for many. Please hold patience and peace in your hearts for the travellers that come your way. Because one way or another, we are all migrants too, if not directly ourselves but through our ancestors. From the Irish back in the 1800’s that travelled across the Atlantic in large numbers during the Great Famine in search for a better life, the Europeans that travelled halfway around the world to Australia in search of gold. All looking for a better life and fortune. Whilst some like our past Prophets, escaping from war and persecution. Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) with his nephew escaping from evil, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) escaping from the hands of Pharaoh, and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrating from Mecca to Medina to escape his enemies.
Today is no different. Someone somewhere is escaping from one thing or another. Allah has created a spacious Earth for all to live in. For those that have no choice but to seek refuge and move away from evil. It is written that those that provide help will be rewarded…and the hypocrites will be punished.
So please hold patience and compassion. And yes, we are also too aware that amongst the refugees escaping from fear and evil that not everyone is genuine. Amongst them are those that are taking advantage of the situation for their own personal greed. Those that say they fear their lives from war and persecution, yet they leave their mothers, wives and children behind. Cowards that cannot stand up for what is right, and hide amongst the weak and vulnerable.
All we can do is overlook and not judge, for Allah is the Judge of all mankind and those that have come seeking refuge under false pretences will face their fate. But in your hearts you will know, you will know those that are in desperate need of help.
So my dearest Readers, follow the path of honesty, believe and have faith in your Creator and enjoy this time with your friends, family and neighbours. Offer warmth and kindness to those that have nothing. For your every good deed will be noted. Have a wonderful Eid wherever you are in the world.
